Borinquen Behavioral Health Center is part of Borinquen Medical Centers, a federally qualified community health center that has served Miami-Dade County since 1972. Alongside primary care, dental, and women’s health, they offer psychiatry, case management, and outpatient treatment for alcohol and drug use, all coordinated within one medical home. Their approach centers on keeping care accessible, with a sliding fee scale for uninsured patients, acceptance of most insurance plans, Spanish-speaking staff, and a commitment to not turning anyone away. They hold CARF accreditation along with national recognition as a patient-centered medical home.

Their outpatient substance use program, called STOPP, combines individual and group counseling with early recovery skills, relapse prevention, and family education, and it links patients to residential treatment when a higher level of care is needed.
