Bluebonnet Trails Community Services is a public community behavioral health organization serving eight Central Texas counties, and Marble Falls is one of the locations for their outpatient substance use program, Bluebonnet Trails Recovery. They work with both adults and adolescents, and their approach rests on the idea that drinking or drug use is often a way of coping with underlying mental health struggles. For that reason, they pair chemical dependency specialists with their broader behavioral health team. Care is structured as a step-down path from intensive outpatient to supportive outpatient and then continuing care, with medication-assisted treatment also available.

The intensive outpatient program provides up to 10 hours of services a week through educational and skill-building groups, process groups, one-on-one counseling, and peer interaction, and the curriculum also includes art and music therapy. Groups run on a rolling 9-week cycle with day and evening options, so people can start at any point and keep up with work, school, or family obligations. The supportive program meets twice weekly, and the MAT program combines counseling with medications such as Suboxone or naltrexone for opioid, alcohol, or tobacco dependence, along with peer recovery coaching, overdose prevention, and case management. They also offer assessments that can satisfy legal requirements, provide services in partnership with local school districts including Marble Falls ISD, and run a regional screening and referral program that can connect uninsured or underinsured people with financial help for residential or other treatment.
