About BJC Behavioral Health

BJC Behavioral Health is a community behavioral health organization within BJC HealthCare, serving people in Florissant, MO, and across St. Louis City, St. Louis County, and St. Francois, Iron, and Washington counties. They have provided mental health care since 1997 and act as an entry point for services funded by the Missouri Department of Mental Health. After becoming a Certified Community Behavioral Health Organization in 2022, they expanded their substance use programming. Today they offer person-centered, trauma-aware outpatient and early intervention treatment for adults and youth, with same-day screening available by appointment or walk-in.

Treatment starts with a screening and assessment and a plan built around the individual, followed by individual, family, and group counseling, education, peer recovery support, and medication for behavioral health conditions. People with co-occurring mental health and substance use disorders can receive integrated care. Adults with severe mental illness can also join an Integrated Treatment for Co-Occurring Disorders program, where a multidisciplinary team matches services to each person’s stage of recovery. When more intensive care is needed, staff refer clients to inpatient treatment, withdrawal management, or outpatient induction on medication for opioid use disorder. Vocational rehabilitation and housing support are also available. They accept Medicaid and Medicare, and eligible clients who can’t pay may receive treatment at no cost through state funding.
