About Behavioral Health Services

Behavioral Health Services is the mental health and addiction care arm of Feather River Tribal Health, a tribally governed nonprofit health organization in Oroville, California, that is overseen by the Berry Creek, Mooretown, and Enterprise Rancherias. They serve Native American patients first, though non-Native people may qualify after their registration is reviewed. Their psychiatrists, licensed mental health therapists, and substance abuse counselors see children, adults, and families by appointment. For alcohol and drug problems, they offer a day treatment program that supports people both before and after formal treatment.

The substance use program follows White Bison’s culturally grounded recovery curriculum and addresses physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual health through the four directions of the medicine wheel. Participants take part in daily smudging, fitness groups, and rehabilitation skills building alongside individual and group therapy and substance abuse counseling. People with opioid use disorder can receive FDA-approved medications and psychiatric care. Beyond addiction care, they run tele-psychiatry, men’s recovery, anger management, and smoking cessation groups, along with parenting classes, traditional healing, cultural activities, and prevention work on violence and sexual assault against women.
