BCD Hoover Treatment Center in Little Rock, Arkansas, is a faith-based addiction treatment program run by Better Community Development, a nonprofit that has served the city’s underserved neighborhoods since 1981. They treat addiction to alcohol, opioids, methamphetamine, cocaine, and other substances, combining evidence-based clinical care with spiritual guidance and a focus on mind, body, and spirit. Care is offered through a 30-day inpatient program, an 8-week intensive outpatient program, and aftercare supported by an alumni network. Their work centers on low-income and at-risk adults and their families, and the organization also runs transitional sober living through Will’s House for men and Empowerment Village for men and women.

Inpatient residents follow a structured schedule with at least six hours of treatment each day, including on-site individual, family, group, and peer counseling every week, along with referrals for mental health therapy. The outpatient track pairs one-on-one counseling with family therapy and group processing on relapse prevention, coping skills, trauma, and family dynamics, and day and evening sessions make it easier to fit around work or other obligations. Beyond counseling, they incorporate drama therapy, recreational therapy, mindfulness, yoga, tai chi, and nutrition education, plus on-site HIV and hepatitis C screening. They can also help clients meet court-mandated requirements, work toward family reunification, build job skills through career readiness training, and move into transitional housing after treatment.
