About Bay Area Recovery Center
Bay Area Recovery Center is a state-licensed addiction treatment provider for adult men and women across the Houston area, with more than 30 years of experience. Many of their staff are in long-term recovery themselves, and they treat addiction as a disease of the mind, body, and spirit, pairing 12-step principles with evidence-based clinical care. They treat alcohol, opioids, fentanyl, benzodiazepines, stimulants, and other substances. Their levels of care include medically assisted detox, separate residential programs for men and women in Dickinson, partial day treatment, intensive outpatient (IOP), supportive outpatient (SOP), and virtual IOP.
Residential stays usually last about 30 days and can extend to 60 or 90 days. Days combine individual and group counseling, chemical dependency education, relapse prevention, cognitive and behavioral work, and morning meditation, with evenings spent in peer groups and an outside 12-step meeting. Clients also get vocational and job-readiness training and job placement help, and an addiction medicine physician reviews every treatment plan. IOP runs weekday evenings from 6 to 9 p.m. with weekly individual counseling, so people can keep working, while SOP, virtual IOP open to clients nationwide, DOT-compliant substance abuse professional evaluations, and alumni aftercare support recovery after formal treatment.
