About Ball Quantrell Jones

Ball-Quantrell Jones Recovery Center for Women in Lexington, Kentucky, is the residential home of The Hope Center’s long-term recovery program for women with substance use disorder. Opened in 2002, the center is run by The Hope Center, a nonprofit that has worked on addiction, mental health, and homelessness in Lexington since the early 1990s. Their program is peer-driven but professionally supervised, built on a community model where residents take personal responsibility for their recovery and hold one another accountable.

Women work through the Recovery Dynamics curriculum, which follows the same approach as The Hope Center’s men’s program, with added features designed specifically for women. Those who are not yet ready to begin the full program can start getting sober in a safe, supportive setting through Safe Off the Streets. The Hope Center’s recovery approach helped shape the statewide Recovery Kentucky model, which pairs peer support with daily living skills classes and job responsibilities to build new habits. Beyond the residential program, The Hope Center offers an intensive outpatient program, mental health services, employment help, and drug- and alcohol-free transitional and permanent housing, including dedicated apartments for women.
