About Averys House
Avery’s House in Apache Junction, Arizona, is one of several residential homes run by Avery’s House, a treatment provider for adolescents ages 12 to 17 with locations in Arizona and Idaho. They focus on teen mental health and treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, self-harm and suicidal thoughts, anger and mood swings, and substance use. The Apache Junction home provides 24/7 residential care in a small, home-like setting. Across the wider organization, families can also find day treatment (PHP) and intensive outpatient programs, plus a virtual IOP for teens who can heal while living at home.
Residential treatment begins with stabilization through predictable routines and round-the-clock support, then moves into daily therapy with licensed clinicians to build skills in emotional regulation, communication, stress management, and recognizing triggers and relapse risks. Their clinical approach blends individual therapy, DBT, CBT, trauma-informed care, case management, and art, music, and experiential therapies, along with outings and community-based activities that let teens put new skills into practice. Families play an active role through family therapy, support groups, visits, and regular progress updates. Teens also receive psychiatric oversight and medication management when needed, academic support in on-site classrooms, and LGBTQ-affirming care.
