About Asian American Drug Abuse Program
Asian American Drug Abuse Program (AADAP) is a community-based nonprofit serving Inglewood and the wider South Los Angeles area, offering substance use disorder treatment alongside broader family and community support. Founded in 1972 as an Asian American–led initiative, they now serve a diverse population with multilingual, culturally affirming care built around their guiding motto, “People Need People.” Their treatment services include residential and outpatient programs for adults, as well as treatment options for youth. Care is person-centered and aims to meet people wherever they are in their recovery.
Within their treatment programs, clients receive individualized counseling, case management, and ongoing support grounded in evidence-based practices, with attention to physical, mental, and emotional healing. A notable recent addition is Mickle’s House, a recovery home where mothers can live with their children while working on their recovery. Beyond clinical care, they connect people to harm reduction and housing navigation, drug and alcohol education, and referrals to health and social services. Their employment program provides career counseling, job readiness training, and financial coaching, which can help people build stability once treatment ends.
