About Anglez Behavioral Health
AngleZ Behavioral Health Services is a licensed substance use disorder agency based in Augusta, Maine, serving central Maine communities since 2013 with mental health, addiction, and co-occurring care for children, adults, and families. They work largely outside a traditional clinic setting, offering outpatient, in-home, and community-based services across several Maine counties, along with behavioral health home programs that coordinate medical and mental health needs. Their addiction work includes outpatient opioid treatment for adolescents, and they aim to schedule a first appointment within three days of a referral.
Young people entering opioid treatment get a team that includes a prescriber for buprenorphine (Suboxone), a medication-assisted treatment nurse, a substance use therapist offering individual or group sessions, a patient navigator, and a certified peer support specialist. Therapists use the Adolescent Community Reinforcement Approach (A-CRA), which helps teens replace unhealthy activities with positive interests, communicate better with family, and manage difficult emotions. An on-site Genoa pharmacy can handle prior authorizations and fill prescriptions during the visit, and State of Maine grant funding covers services and medication for people without insurance. For MaineCare members with a substance use disorder who are involved with or at risk of involvement with Child Protective Services, a home-based Family Recovery Skills program builds coping, parenting, independent living, and medication management skills, while outpatient therapy is available for co-occurring conditions, children, and Arabic-speaking clients through interpreters.
