Angel Hope House is a gated halfway house in Newark, New Jersey, offering ASAM Level 3.1 clinically managed residential care for women 18 and older. They serve women with substance use disorders, including those with co-occurring mental health conditions, and focus on helping residents move from structured treatment to independent living. Stays are long-term, averaging about six months and lasting up to a year, and the program includes 5 hours of substance use treatment. The house is handicapped accessible, and staff are available around the clock for support and crisis intervention.

Each resident starts with a full assessment that shapes an individualized recovery plan, which is revisited as her needs change. Counseling draws on motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy in both group and individual formats, and trauma-informed therapy for women with a trauma history. An APRN handles psychiatric evaluations and medication monitoring, while a licensed clinician provides individual and group counseling for co-occurring residents. Beyond therapy, women take part in daily support groups, a peer mentoring program, family therapy and education, and practical classes in budgeting, job readiness, cooking, and nutrition, with case management and aftercare planning connecting them to community services and alumni support after discharge.
