About Anderson/Oconee

Anderson Oconee Behavioral Health Services (AOBHS) is a community alcohol and drug treatment agency serving Anderson and Oconee counties in South Carolina, with offices in Anderson and Seneca. They view substance use as something that affects not just the individual but also families, workplaces, and the wider community. Care is matched to each person’s assessed needs, with a focus on catching problems early, keeping treatment personalized and flexible, and helping people get back to productive lives. Levels of care include traditional outpatient, intensive outpatient (IOP), a women’s intensive outpatient track, and adolescent intensive outpatient, along with intensive in-home services for families and telehealth options.

For adults, AOBHS runs South Carolina’s Alcohol Drug Safety Action Program (ADSAP) for people with DUI-related requirements, as well as employee assistance programs and treatment for gambling addiction and tobacco use. Group offerings include NOVA (New Outlooks Via Awareness), a women’s empowerment group, anger management, and a continuing care group for people stepping down from more intensive treatment. Young people can take part in adolescent relapse prevention, an alternative-to-suspension program, an awareness group, a drug-of-choice group, a girls’ empowerment group, and a group for children of alcoholics. They also deliver prevention programming in schools and the community, which makes them a practical option for families looking for help with a teenager.
