They are licensed by the Louisiana Department of Health and Hospitals to provide outpatient treatment, and their counselors hold state registration, certification, or licensure. Care begins with a comprehensive assessment, and the results shape how many counseling sessions a person needs and what those sessions cover. Outpatient treatment combines individual and group counseling, usually runs 9 to 12 weeks, and is followed by an aftercare program. Alongside general substance abuse treatment, they offer an OWI extended program for people facing impaired-driving charges, SAP-DOT assessments for transportation workers, anger management, and a theft prevention program.
