Alpine Recovery Services is an outpatient substance use treatment program in Arlington, Washington, that has been working with individuals and families in the area since 1992. Treatment combines individual counseling and group sessions with Moral Reconation Therapy, relapse prevention work, and coping strategies for handling stress and triggers. The program is rooted in a 12-step community, and past clients describe attending AA meetings and completing assigned reading, such as the opening chapters of the AA Big Book and a book on the physiology of alcoholism, as part of their requirements. After the core program, the Positive Choices program and continuing care help people keep their progress going through therapist check-ins, alumni events, support groups, and aftercare planning, and family support services involve loved ones in the process. They also provide DUI evaluations and education that meet court standards, which can be helpful for anyone dealing with legal requirements tied to their substance use.
