About Advocates Community Behavioral Health

Advocates Community Behavioral Health in Framingham, Massachusetts, is part of Advocates, a nonprofit that has spent more than fifty years supporting people facing mental health, developmental, addiction, and other life challenges. Their person-centered approach starts with listening, then working alongside individuals and families to build plans around their own goals. For substance use and co-occurring mental health conditions, they offer outpatient individual and group counseling at clinics in Framingham, Marlborough, and Harvard, plus residential group homes in MetroWest and Central Massachusetts. They also run two addiction recovery homes, Channing House and Linda Fay Griffin House, and accept MassHealth and most private insurance plans.

Beyond counseling, they connect people with recovery coaches who draw on their own lived experience with addiction, along with Recovery Support Navigators who help clients find treatment and community resources. Adult MassHealth members with complex needs may qualify for integrated care management through a team of licensed care managers, nurses, peers, and care coordinators who coordinate physical health, mental health, and substance use care. For people facing OUI charges, court-referred programs include a 16-week, 40-hour Driver Alcohol Education course for first offenders and a year of aftercare for second offenders following a 14-day residential stay. Their broader services include psychiatry, peer support, mobile crisis intervention, and NeuroStar TMS therapy for depression at their Marlborough clinic.
