Addictions Recovery Centers (ARC) is a CARF-accredited outpatient addiction treatment provider for adults 18 and older, with an office in South Bend, Indiana, and additional locations in Goshen, Elkhart, and LaGrange. They view substance misuse as a progressive condition that affects a person’s physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, and their work centers on making effective help accessible to people struggling with alcohol and other drugs. Care begins with a one-hour, face-to-face evaluation with an addictions counselor, who reviews psychological and social history and uses DSM-5 criteria to recommend the right level of service. From there, clients may be placed in intensive outpatient treatment, a modified outpatient program, relapse prevention, individual counseling, or education classes.

Their Intensive Outpatient Program is built for people with substance dependence and runs 24 group sessions over eight or twelve weeks, followed by 16 weeks of weekly aftercare. A lighter Modified Outpatient Program pairs education with group therapy over 20 weeks, while a 16-week relapse prevention track serves people who return to use after completing prior treatment. Groups draw on Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, interactive journaling, lectures, and homework, and individualized “Flex” plans are available for clients who don’t fit a standard schedule. Most programs require attendance at outside groups such as AA or NA. Education options range from a basic eight-hour class to the workbook-based Change Company series, which is often used for court-referred clients. ARC accepts traditional Medicaid, several Indiana health plans, and major commercial insurers, and self-pay clients can use discounted rates and weekly payment plans.
