Addiction Care Interventions, known as ACI, is a private addiction treatment provider in Brooklyn, New York, that has been helping people recover from substance use since 1969. They offer both inpatient care and outpatient services, including an intensive outpatient program, for people struggling with alcohol, heroin, cocaine, prescription painkillers, benzodiazepines, barbiturates, amphetamines, tranquilizers, and other substances. Their approach is trauma-informed and individualized, aiming to address the root causes of addiction along with each person’s emotional, physical, social, and spiritual health. The team includes psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, licensed clinical social workers, credentialed substance use counselors, and staff who have been through recovery themselves.

Medication-assisted treatment with options like Suboxone and Vivitrol is available, and full-time on-site psychiatrists support a dedicated mental health track for people with co-occurring conditions. Therapy draws on CBT, DBT, Seeking Safety, and anger management, alongside family therapy, spirituality and meditation practices, and health and nutrition services. Specialized groups serve women and men separately, LGBTQI clients, Spanish speakers, parents, survivors of domestic violence, and people in DWI/DUI or impaired driving programs. Outpatient clients can join groups and individual counseling in person or by telehealth, use walk-in services, get HIV and hepatitis C testing with linkage to care, and receive housing and vocational assistance and discharge planning.
