About AdCare Rhode Island Inc

AdCare Rhode Island is an addiction treatment center in North Kingstown, Rhode Island, and part of AdCare’s network of New England programs. They view addiction as a chronic disease that affects the brain, body, and spirit, and they place real weight on involving families in the recovery process. Care at this location includes medical detox, residential rehabilitation, an intensive outpatient program, and standard outpatient services, with treatment for co-occurring mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, and PTSD built into the work.

Residential days are highly structured, with five to seven hours of group work daily covering process, relapse prevention, and psychoeducation, plus individual therapy at least once a week and 12-Step meetings. Clinical approaches include cognitive behavioral therapy, family therapy, psychiatric care, trauma-informed therapies, and medication-assisted treatment, with dedicated programming for veterans and first responders. Each patient is assigned a case manager, and aftercare planning begins on the first day so people can step down smoothly into outpatient care. They also run a state-approved DUI treatment program with a 10–12 week track for first-time offenders and a 15–20 week track for second-time offenders, which combines evening groups, individual therapy, and weekly toxicology screening.
