The Abbey Addiction Treatment Center is an addiction treatment program in Bettendorf, Iowa, serving people throughout the Iowa/Illinois Quad Cities since 2008. They work with adults struggling with alcohol, illicit drug, and prescription medication use, and they treat the mental health concerns that so often travel alongside addiction. Their philosophy centers on helping clients become healthier, happier, and more fulfilled, with lasting sobriety seen as a natural result of that broader well-being rather than the sole focus. Most clients cover much or all of their care through health insurance, and they accept a wide range of plans, including Wellmark and Blue Cross Blue Shield.

Care begins with an assessment based on American Society of Addiction Medicine (ASAM) criteria, along with a medical exam, psychiatric evaluation, and biopsychosocial review. Together, these shape an individualized treatment plan that is revisited with each client and adjusted as they progress. Primary counselors hold master’s degrees in counseling, and physicians and nurses provide medical and psychiatric care, which supports their emphasis on co-occurring conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, OCD, grief, trauma, eating disorders, codependency, anger, and ADHD. Their team approaches addiction as a disease, offering practical tools for recovery without judgment or moralizing.
