At Acadiana Addiction Center, we don’t just treat addiction, we aim to break the cycle entirely. Identifying addiction as a physiological and psychological disease, we heal our patients with individual and group therapy, 12-Step meetings, sponsorships, and by offering effective coping skills for growth. The goal is for patients to achieve a core change and attain life-long recovery. Located on an open campus in the serene Sunset, Louisiana, we offer medically monitored detox, a devoted staff, permitted family involvement, individual treatment plans, and accountability among patients. We also organize daily activities for socializing.

We help people afflicted with substance use disorders, including: alcohol, opioids, sedatives, tobacco, benzodiazepines, marijuana, and stimulants. We can also help people who are suffering from co-occurring disorders, such as: anxiety, personality disorders, depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder. At Acadiana, we pride ourselves on our exceptional staff of therapists, medical doctors, psychiatrists, nurses, and addictionologists. Our treatments, which follow out medically-assisted detox, our designed to better serve our variety of patients. We help them develop coping skills through Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), art therapy, motivational interviewing, defense mechanisms, rational emotive behavior therapy, anger management, relaxation groups, fitness, and recreational activities. We promote socializing and encourage our patients to relax by playing pool, basketball, and ping pong.

Residential treatment at Acadiana averages 30 to 90 days. We evaluate medical concerns, then prescribe therapies like CBT and trauma-focused therapy, then eye movement desensitization and reprocessing. We also continue to offer patient care post-treatment. Patients who need flexibility, or desire to maintain their lifestyle outside the facility, have the option of our 8-week Intensive Outpatient Program. However, patients must engage in a 12-Step program with minor monitoring to qualify. We also offer a Partial Hospitalization Program to assist people who have finished residential care, but require more intensive, around-the-clock treatment. At Acadiana Addiction Center, we treat our patients with the attention and compassion they need for support in their recovery.
